Last month I got to join my brother and his family for a return visit to the Outer Banks. This property was on the sound which offered a great vantage point for sunsets and low light photography. The trip coincided with the second "super moon" of the summer. I was happy to experiment with some low light techniques, trying hard to slow the shutter enough to make the sound look like glass.
Unfortunately, we didn't get a spectacular sunset those days, but we had some fun on the dock playing around with the cameras. Here are some of the better shots (and a bad selfie)... got more to learn about low light photography!

PAD
Looking for a project, I recently took on the common practice of taking a "Picture A Day" (PAD). I gave myself some rules, the pictures had to be taken in or around my home and once I picked a subject for the day, I couldn't return to it on another day. I would do this for one week.
This turned out to be harder than I thought it would be! Not the most artistic or technically creative pictures I have ever taken, but they gave me a chance to stretch the brain and look closely at my immediate surroundings. I had fun and enjoyed my hobby every day for that week!
Here are the final selections, one for each day...
